Crowns

To improve one’s teeth

If a tooth is damaged and its function is no longer secured by a conventional restorative therapy in the long term, the supply by a crown is medically indicated.

A crown can be used at short notice and ensures thanks to modern high-performance ceramics over conventional crowns a final result, which is characterized by sophisticated aesthetics, function and durability.

Insertion of a new crown – Step by Step
Among the treatment processes described here, there may be several alternatives. Contact our team of specialists to find out which solution is personally best for you.

1. Before the procedure
Our doctors perform a thorough investigation and make an impression on the existing crown or the tooth. The impression is used as a prototype for the manufacture of a new crown or temporary supply.

2. The preparation of the old tooth
The natural tooth is minimally prepared or adapted. Then a temporary crown is placed. Even now, wishes to color and shape for the final restoration will be considered.

3. The insertion of the new crown
About one to two weeks after the first treatment, the permanent crown is placed firmly. According to scientific studies, they hold on average between 15 and 20 years.

4. The final result
The final result is a new tooth, which integrates perfectly into the existing teeth. We work with renowned dental technicians acting on-site to your needs. For the crown, the normal dental care recommendations apply.

The alternatives to all-ceramic crowns
All-ceramic crowns are aesthetically superior to conventional gold crowns or metal ceramic crowns. It is much more difficult to achieve a similarly natural result with a conventional metal-ceramic crown.

Metal-ceramic crowns
This is the usual, well-known solution, which has already been proven for over 20 years. It is characterized by a long shelf life.

Gold crowns
Gold crowns are made in special cases and at the request of our patients. Despite its aesthetic limitations, they are distinguished by their precision fit and long life expectancy.
