Deaf children learn to listen
We were happy to provide a little support again
The little ones are the most precious to us and some of them need our special support.
So it is a great pleasure for us again this year to make a small contribution to the successful outcome of the charity tournament of the association “Taube Kinder lernen hören! Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Implant Centrums Freiburg e.V.”
We are very happy about the donation number of 19.000 € and congratulate the Förderverein for this success on behalf of the children!
Cochlear implant technology gives children (or adults) the wonderful opportunity to (re-) learn how to hear and, with special support, learn to speak.
We were able to experience for ourselves which luck it means for these patients to have this opportunity and thus participate even more actively in daily life and gain so much more quality of life.
We think it’s a great thing that we love to support!
Thanks also to the entire team of Professor Dr. med. Dr. Roland Laszig for the successful organization of this tournament since 2002.
SOS Kinderdorf (Children’s village)
Each child should have a family
Far too many children worldwide are in need. Here in Germany, in hunger and war zones.
Unfortunately, we can not alleviate all the misery of all these children. But even a little support can be of great help to a small person.
For decades, we have been supporting the work of the SOS Children’s Villages with our family to make our own small contribution to children being innocently in need.
Many of us, we include ourselves, had the great fortune and privilege of living without hunger in a loving family. Not everybody has this luck!
It is important for us not to close our eyes to this and also to make our descendants aware that you should always share a small piece of your own happiness with others.
A little story about this: It was just before Christmas and we heard about a fundraiser that looked for toys and gifts for children. So we picked out rare or no longer needed toys, which were still very well preserved, and decided to share this with other children. It was lovingly packaged together and labeled according to age. We were amazed at how many small gifts came together this way. One of many examples of how to make the next generation aware that not all children and people are doing as well as we are.

Dr. Marko Knauf: Management Board Member of the DGzPRsport
(German Association of Dental Prevention and Rehabilitation in Elite Sports)
Dr. Marko Knauf is involved in DGzPRsport as a board member and advises elite athletes on the implementation of their sporting goals and ways of improving their performance by optimizing their dental health.
The DGzPRsport is a dental society that performs scientific and professional tasks in the field of dental care for top athletes. Founded in Göttingen in 2007 as the first German specialist society for sports dentistry, it maintains its office in Kassel.
It coordinates specific care concepts and organizes and certifies continuing education and training of physicians, dentists and physiotherapists.
Dr. Marko Knauf: President of the IASD

To increase the opportunities to present and engage internationally, the international specialist society IASD was founded as its counterpart to DGzPRsport, whose president Dr. Marko Knauf is.
Like the DGzPRsport, the IASD has set itself the goal of advancing research and expanding the knowledge on improving oral health in sport worldwide, facilitating the communication and application of research results, coordinating international activities in sports dentistry, and creating a worldwide network of sports dentistry.
The organization of conferences and trainings in the field of sports dentistry should be expanded on an international level.
Dr. Marko Knauf: Certified Implantology Expert (DGOI)

Through his many years of experience in the field of implantology and the detailed documentation of many patient cases, Dr. Marko Knauf has become a certified implantology expert as part of a practice-oriented further education program.
For many years, implantology has been one of the specialist fields of Dr. Marko Knauf, about which he gives lectures in various national and international education courses and congresses.

A unique network in Germany: around 40 regional study groups meet several times a year. To exchange experiences with colleagues and speakers. For practice-oriented training. For mutual inspiration.
Dr. Marko Knauf leads one of these study groups and regularly organizes events for colleagues who are interested in qualified further education and the collegial exchange of experience.

The field of implantology is a constantly growing market. More and more dentists organize themselves in various national and international professional societies and continue to educate themselves. In Germany alone, of more than 55,000 licensed dentists about 17,000 are a member of one or more of the four major professional associations DGI, BDIZ, DGZI and DGOI or the international specialist association ICOI. On the one hand, dentists can easily become members in these specialist societies without gaining additional qualifications, but on the other hand, they can also attain differentiated standards through further education measures. Already as a standard member, however, you get a membership certificate, which then adorns the practice wall.
For the patient, it is very difficult, almost impossible, to interpret, let alone judge, the qualifications of an implantologist from the many different documents, certifications and statements. It is advertised and argued in words such as Curriculum, Continuum, Fellow, Implantology Expert, Specialist, European Specialist, Master, Master of Science, IPS Master or Diplomate in various implantology networks and physician lists.
For example, of the more than 55,000 licensed dentists in Germany, only about 2 percent are qualitatively at the highest training and certification level of the individual medical societies. And only these few dentists have completed the prescribed continuing education and have confirmed it through active continuous participation in training and further education. Some of them even have the relatively new Master of Oral Implantology (MOI) degree.
Leading Implant Centers only include implantologists in their platform, who are at the highest qualification level of the specialist societies or can prove the MOI. You can trust them in questions of implantology proven and invariably.

Congratulations to Sandra Krieger for passing the exam “Dentalhygienikerin Professional”!
A long way is done! After many months of intensive training, demanding exams and sleepless nights she can hold it in her hands: the certificate “Dental Hygienist Professional”!
This path was not easy and not everybody has been able to reach the goal. We are all the more pleased about this extraordinary success!
We have always valued her expertise and her dealings with our patients. So we have firmly believed that she will master this excellent training very well.
She can be very proud of what she did here!
