The tooth to heal from inside out
“Endodontics” is called the doctrine of “inside the tooth.” It is concerned with form, function and health of the pulp (nerve of the tooth) and the surrounding tissue. It is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries of these tissues.
During a root canal treatment, the dead tissue from the root canal system of the tooth is removed, bacteria are killed and then the root canal system is being sealed with a dense filling. In this way, the recent invasion of bacteria is prevented.
The goal of endodontic treatment is always the preservation of one’s own tooth.
