More safety through 3D implantation
Modern recording techniques and new computer programs create new possibilities for gentle care with dental implants. There are people who are afraid of a surgical procedure and its consequences, or who do not know whether their bone is even suitable for an implant.
This creates a new, computer-aided method for virtual surgical planning Security: Like natural teeth, implants require sufficient bone to be firmly anchored. Likewise, this “artificial tooth root” must be implanted deep enough into the bone to ensure long-term durability.
If the existing bone is not sufficient to accommodate an implant, bone reconstruction can also be simulated. Furthermore, the optimal position in the bone is important to protect nerves and blood vessels from injury. This is precisely where the new technology of so-called “navigated implantation” comes into play.
